Chef Kurtis Becker started here right after the Fourth of July holiday (coincidentally, his 30th birthday!); he comes to us from Durango’s Palace Restaurant … what can I say … their loss, our gain!
Kurtis hails from Michigan – yes, Colorado Peeps, he is a Red Wings fan but we won’t hold that against him! He has resided in the Durango area for nearly 10 years and now considers southwestern Colorado home. When he isn’t in the kitchen, he is usually playing guitar or spending time with his daughter, Keara.
Kurtis has brought a new vibe into the kitchen and an eagerness to try new menu ideas.
Guest favorites are still on the menu but Chef Kurtis makes the absolute best Hollandaise sauce you will ever taste so we now serve a variety of Eggs Benedicts as well as our San Juan Benedict Stack and of course, the English Muffins for those Benedicts are made by Kurtis!
Our newest breakfast that elicited oohs & aahs from our Guests … the Breakfast Tostada! Black Beans, a toasted Corn Tortilla, Chorizo & Eggs with New Mexico Green Chiles & a sprinkling of Jalapeños topped off with Sour Cream, Tomatoes & shredded Red Cabbage.
The Antlers on the Creek Full Monte, a perennial favorite of both our Guests and Staff. It’s a good thing we make extra when these are served because the staff would mutiny if they didn’t get breakfast. A mouth watering combination of a Monte Cristo sandwich, (without the deep frying), and a Croque Madame. Savory French Toast with a smattering of Fig Butter, Havarti Cheese, Black Forrest Ham, then a layer of Fontina Cheese all topped with an over easy egg and a Chive Flower from the garden. O – M – Gee!
So, if your taste buds are screaming for some incredible edibles, head on over to Durango and savor the best breakfast in Durango! We guarantee, you won’t go hungry! Prepare to be Pampered at Durango’s #1 rated Bed & Breakfast – Antlers on the Creek – Durango’s luxury B & B.
