Antlers on the Creek has been recognized as a winner in the “B&B and Inns” category of the 2017 Trip Advisor Travelers’ Choice® award for Hotels. Antlers ranked 7th out of the top 25 in the USA. This award is such an honor for us! Thanks so much to my incredible staff and the most amazing guests any establishment could ever ask for! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The entire staff is quite excited to receive this award … almost giddy! To think Antlers hasn’t even been open for three full seasons and is already recognized as a top Colorado getaway! It is so gratifying to know that our guests appreciate the contribution made by each and every member of the staff. Honestly, I couldn’t do it without them, nor would I want to try. Can you keep a secret … I’m going to take them out to celebrate!
When I opened Antlers on the Creek, I knew I wanted to provide my guests an experience that I would appreciate … and I am really, really picky. I tell my Guests that if I don’t like it, you won’t find it here. I wanted the most comfortable beds I could find complete with sheets so decadent you wouldn’t want to get up in the morning. I wanted a fresh, contemporary feel with a hint of Colorado, hence the name – Antlers on the Creek. I try to provide an atmosphere that Millennials as well as Boomers would revel in. I wanted comfort and service that you couldn’t find anywhere else in Durango. I wanted to pamper my guests but not smother them, hence our tag line of “Prepare to Be Pampered”.
Then there was the food; after all ‘breakfast’ is in our name! I wanted to give my guests a unique taste of the Southwest … but not every day. So, Chef Kurtis varied our menu. House specialties include Cornbread Waffles with Green Chile Stew, San Juan Benedict Stacks and our very own Full Montes, a combination of the classic Croque Madame & a Monte Cristo. Kurtis makes the best Hollandaise around, but don’t tell him I said so; just kidding, I tell him that every time he makes it!
No one ever leaves the breakfast table hungry. Most guests say they don’t need lunch because breakfast is so hearty and delicious. Breakfast service includes three courses with fresh fruit and freshly baked goods; a scrumptious main course and lattes or cappuccinos (as good as your local coffee house) with our very own Antlers’ Blend coffee.
I think being chosen as the #7 best B&B in the country means I have succeeded in giving guests hospitality that comes from my heart and thankfully from the hearts of my staff. Keep watching us. I have many more ideas on how to give you an even better stay.
